On the sixth of June, our youth will blossom in a sunlit, windswept garden. Over the years, we have done our best to reach for the highest branches, and we wouldn't have achieved much without the support of our friends and families.
Last September, we moved into our first home. Now, our focus is on making June 6th a truly special day. And afterwards? We're dreaming of a beautiful honeymoon.
If you wish to support our new home adventure or contribute to our honeymoon, you may do so via bank transfer or via Hong Bao (红包) (see below).

HONG BAO
In Chinese culture, Hong Bao (红包) is a tradition that dates back thousands of years. During the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD), the practice of gifting coins tied with red strings was considered a good omen, believed to ward off evil spirits and illness. Over time and across dynasties, this custom evolved: during the Ming and Qing dynasties, coins used to be placed inside coloured pouches, which were eventually replaced by the red envelopes used today. In modern times, Hong Bao, consists in gifting a red envelope containing banknotes and coins to celebrate important occasions, symbolizing wishes of prosperity and happiness for the future. The amount of money, as well as the numbers associated with the coins and banknotes, are carefully chosen to convey specific meanings, making Hong Bao not merely a gift, but a form of blessing. Be careful! in Chinese culture, numbers carry a wide range of symbolic meanings:
The number 2
It evokes the balance between yin and yang, becoming a symbol of harmony and union.
The number 6
Associated with the fluidity of water and the smooth progression of events, it is widely regarded as a sign of success.
The number 8
The luckiest number of all. It is strongly associated with prosperity and wealth.
The number 9
It represents strength and longevity, conveying wishes for a strong and enduring bond.
The number 4
TO BE AVOIDED! Its pronunciation closely resembles the word for “death”. In Chinese culture, this association is taken very seriously. It is quite common for buildings (even newly constructed ones) to omit the fourth floor altogether.
